Karen Sue Bryant writes to her parents from Pitea Sweden where she stays with the Stig Lomberger family as part of the Lions Club Youth Exchange Program. She describes a long overnight flight from New York City to London and the travel by bus from Braniff terminal.

Fred Grant Green, 72, died July 20 in a West Texas hospital from injuries after a car crash near Post Texas on July 13. A Bridgeport barber and later an insurance agent, he was a longtime city official and a church and Masonic member. Services were July 24 at First Baptist Church with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Addie, a daughter Frieda Van Landingham and two sons Clinton and Cletus.

The Third Annual Wise County Hay Show will be held Thursday August 15 at the Sheriff's Posse Grounds south of Decatur. Hay entries due by August 1 at listed stations with divisions for Perennial Annual and Legume plus mixed classes. Judges from Texas A&M and local experts will assess protein content and visual quality. prizes awarded to division champions.

Wise County Unit of the American Cancer Society and the national body coordinate a program to provide 320 dollars of blood weekly for W. J. Greenchild of Newark. The five year old suffers leukemia, and the illness has drained the family finances over an extended period.
