Mr and Mrs John W Walker of Grub Hill Community marked 63 years of marriage with a Father s Day reunion at their home. Their children grandchildren and great grandchildren came from Texas New Mexico and Oklahoma for the celebration with home made ice cream cake and singing featured.
Lloyd Ross of 503 1st Street Bridgeport saddled his horse Sunday afternoon and was bucked off ending with both arms broken. He spent Sunday night in a local hospital and is convalescing at home. The notice also reports travels of several local residents to California and Chicago.
The Bridgeport School District trustees met July 1 1963 and accepted the resignations of Mr and Mrs Billy K Potts. They hired five teachers Marilyn Wood Carroll Lee Eggleston Mrs Bessie Sheppard and Mr and Mrs Bill White pending replacement. The 1963 64 calendar was reviewed and approved.
A new TV sales display opens two doors east of the Index featuring RCA Victor color and black and white sets and Curtis Mathes products alongside used sets. The store will join C R Foreman TV but will not handle service. Visitors expect a full opening within days. Nearby, Mr and Mrs Funk and others traveled to Estes Park Colorado for a family vacation while Lloyd Hudson recovers from major surgery at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth.
Bridgeport and Chico firms sponsor a six week free Thursday night show at the Lake Drive In Theater beginning July 4. Free tickets are available from local merchants. Lion Club members note the Bridgeport Lions 35th anniversary with a luncheon and remarks by district governor A C Tribbie and speaker Tom Kirkham.
