Voter Registration Forms Available Before January Deadline
Registration forms and certificates are available at the Bridgeport Index office and from the county tax collector assessor M B Balls Decatur office. Completed forms must be mailed or hand delivered to Balls office with all information including precinct number. Bridgeport voters are in precincts 13 Paradise 17 Boonsville 16 and Chico 12. Election judges can supply other precinct numbers.

Bridgeport Chamber Banquet Set For March 29 In Sally Martin Hall
A tentative date for the Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce annual banquet is March 29 at Sally Martin Hall in Lake Bridgeport Methodist Camp. Speakers to be announced soon. Nominees for four board seats include G B Funk Reba Jewel Hawkins Howard Meyers Mary Lou Butram Dr L V Selz Clint Muhlinghouse and C E Privitt. Retiring are John Lamkin D C Sipes and Harlan Bridwell. Ballots mailed last week must be returned by February 10.

Burglary Hits Bridgeport Junior High School
Bridgeport Junior High School suffered about 3000 dollars in losses from a burglary that occurred between 7:30 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday January 26. Two electric typewriters a thermo fax copy machine three Conn tenor saxophones and 32 dollars in change were taken along with 700 dollars of building damage. The break in appeared professional as doors were pried and windows broken. A soft drink machine and office items were also damaged or stolen. Police chief Walter Dale said the case is under investigation.

Shorthand Class Offered At Bridgeport High School
Cook County Jr. College will offer shorthand for credit or non credit on Thursday nights at Bridgeport High School, announced by School Superintendent A. E. Greer. Interest urged for Thursday night January 28 1971. contact Mrs. Hand or Mrs. Wherry at 683 4153 if unavailable. Second semester courses including freshman English and Sociology opened January 18 and more students are encouraged to enroll.

Champion Coach Speaks at Dinner in Denton
Sam F. Hindsman, famed coach of basketball and football, spoke at the January 25 booster dinner for Lifetime Security Insurance in Denton. He traced his career from Mississippi to Memphis State, Alabama, George Peabody College, and Arkansas Tech, highlighting thirteen championships over eighteen years and multiple coaching honors.

Miss Wise County Pageant Set by Bridgeport Chamber
The Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the Miss Wise County Pageant in July. The county winner advances to the Texas Pageant to crown the state queen who competes for Miss America in Atlantic City in September. The chamber plans a Wise County sponsorship continuation with a pageant again in April and formed committees to plan the program and sponsorants from area organizations.
