Huge grass fire near Boonsville injures man
O. L. Barfield is in satisfactory condition at Harris Hospital after second degree burns to the face and legs from a grass fire near Boonsville last Thursday. The blaze scorched 2,500 to 3,000 acres as about 100 firefighters from 16 departments fought it, with wind shifts causing a Friday re ignition.

Wise County Grand Jury Indicts Nine Individuals
The Wise County Grand Jury returned nine indictments on Friday. Four are for driving while intoxicated, naming Virgil Lee Burt James Floyd Caraway George Chester Cox and Warren Earl Grace. Two defendants Bradley Peter Dery and Linda Gordon Purgason face marijuana possession charges. Donald Ray Gill is indicted for theft and Gwen Peyton Gary Fulton for breaking and entering a motor vehicle. Senior Citizens meet January 28 at First Baptist Church with a tax program and social activities.

Two Teens Charged In Vehicle Burglary Case
Two 17 year old men from Fort Worth and Azle were charged with motor vehicle burglary after deputies found six citizen band radios power tools and a pistol believed stolen in their car following a traffic crash near Springtown. A Lake Worth man was also arrested for buying the stolen items with police recovering many tape players at his residence.
