Residents Urged to Attend Austin Insurance Meeting
Superintendent Alfred E Greer reported the Bridgeport School District asks residents to join a February 18 meeting with the insurance commission at the Texas Highway Commission Building in Austin The goal is to move Wise County from the Wichita Falls area to the Central zone boosting school savings by about 60 percent The board also approved extending bus service one mile further south of Boonsville for good weather. Wayne Bradley sought use of the central gym for square dance events.

Man Injured In Auto Crash Near Bridgeport
Aaron L. Roper of Wizard Wells was seriously hurt February 3 in a one car turnover between Bridgeport and Runaway Bay on Highway 24. Police Chief Walter Dale said the 1970 Ford pickup ran off the road, struck an abutment edge and rolled three times. Roper was taken to Bridgeport Hospital and remained in fairly good condition.

Bridgeport Youth Council president Leslie Gage says two proposals were presented to the City Council to block off streets around the Lions Building during teen sessions and to hire police patrols. The Lions Club meeting followed complaints of noise littering and traffic. officials expected a decision by Saturday. Separately, Stroud and Barnette Area Service Station owner G B Stroud was robbed at 5 15 am last Thursday a man wearing a brown paper sack over his head demanded money and fled with about 1800 including cash checks and courtesy cards.

Post Office Closure Notice for February Holidays
