Welder's torch blamed for Saturday blaze in Wise County
A wildfire near Boonsville burned about 4,500 acres drawing 30 fire departments, the Texas Forestry Service and law enforcement. The blaze started from a stray welding spark on the Waggoner Ranch near FM 920 and County Road 3655. One occupied structure and several hunting camp buildings were lost. Boonsville fire chief Dennis Penney broke his arm while fighting the flames but no lives were reported.

Greg and Sandi Robinson joined their son Billy as they surveyed the remains of his unins ured mobile home off a private road north of County Road 3655. Billy said the fire consumed the structure in under 30 minutes. He owned the home outright and had no insurance.

Hundreds of bikers rally for Wise County Toy Run
In Bridgeport a large procession of about 550 motorcycles carried roughly 750 people toward Harwood Park for the Wise County Toy Run. Organizers reported a bigger turnout than last year as donations poured in for Abundant Life Children's Home and Bridgeport Care Center, including a $12,000 check and a Santa Claus gift presentation for local children.
