Harlem Stars to Play Bridgeport Team in Holiday Showdown
The Harlem Stars travel to Bridgeport to face the Bridgeport All-Stars in a Wednesday night basketball game at 8:00 p.m. in the high school gym. Tickets are $1.50 for adults and $1 for students at the door. Coach Troy Burch invites players and calls a practice session next week at the gym.

Streets Erect New Christmas Decorations in Bridgeport
City workers have installed Christmas decorations on Hassell Street in Bridgeport. Some pieces require straightening, and more S shaped decorations will be added to downtown utility poles once brackets are ready. The decorations were bought last summer by Bridgeport city and the Bridgeport Chamber of Commerce.

County Clerk Clyde Slimp Dies Sudden in New Mexico
Clyde Slimp, Wise County official for over 30 years and county clerk, died after a sudden illness in Albuquerque New Mexico. Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church of Decatur with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. He is survived by a son L C Slimp and two daughters Ruth Slimp and Mrs H B Southall, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Slimp had announced re election and was visiting a grandson with the Air Force when he fell ill.
