Newark Store Burglary Ends With Three Charged
Three Newark residents Roger Reedy Jeff Reedy and Bonnie Reedy were charged after a Sunday morning break in at Boteler’s Dry Goods valued at 4000 to 5000. Reedy is accused of breaking in loading merchandise into a pickup and trailer house later recovered with clothes jewelry and other items. The siblings were charged with theft over 200 and burglary respectively.

Highway 114 Expanded From Wise to Lubbock Route Change
The State Highway and Public Transportation Commission extends SH 114 from Wise County to Lubbock, routing through Wise, Jack, Young, Archer, Baylor, Knox, King, Dickens, Crosby counties and replacing SH 199 north of Bridgeport with SH 101. The change takes effect January 1 with the 1976 Official Highway Travel Map.

Thanksgiving Weekend Traffic Crashes Prompt Several Injuries
Over Thanksgiving weekend multiple accidents caused injuries and minor damage. Mrs Guseieta Leslie Medford 76 was treated for a head laceration and concussion after a left turn into a 1967 El Camino driven by Clarence Earl Wallace 25 of Bridgeport. A second crash at Highway 380 and FM 1658 injured three in the Robinson/Gaynor crash. A Sears trailer wreck on Highway 380 west of FM 1658 had one driver uninjured. A deer collision spoiled a hunting trip injuring James Van Heuvel and David Garrison. A car train collision sent Steven Wayne Hughes to Bridgeport Hospital.
