Wise County Agri-Business Banquet Honors Five Outstanding Local Leaders
Five Wise County men and a farm family were named outstanding in their fields at the Monday Agri-Business Banquet in Lake Bridgeport. Edgebert Hudson and James Moyers of Bridgeport, Loyd Wood of Boonsville, Leonard Ratliff of Boyd, and the Paul Davis family received top honors, with Moyers noted by the Bridgeport Jaycees. The event highlighted dairy, forage, cattle, and farming achievements and acknowledged program contributors, including Hay Show entrants and demonstration participants, under the guidance of County Extension Agent John South.

Pecan Show Entries Light Despite Decline in Yield

Thanksgiving day crash in Paradise leaves one dead
A head on collision on Highway 14 in Paradise killed 75 year old Lona Moody of Bridgeport and left four others hospitalized. The injured include Earl and Emma Harms and Carl and Bertha Heath. Moody died at 2:35 p.m. Thursday. The Harms and Heaths were treated at Bridgeport Hospital with surgeries and wounds. The Senior Citizens Christmas luncheon at Bridgeport Methodist Church is set for December 8.
