One Man Killed In Pickup Truck Crash
A 38-year-old Bridgeport man, Hall born March 8, 1939, died Tuesday when his pickup collided with a loaded gravel truck on Highway 101 near the Chico area. DPS Trooper Coy Clanton investigated. Hall’s body was taken to Bridgeport Hospital. Funeral services were held Friday at the Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife Lockade, three children, parents Fred W. and Mrs. Hall, two brothers and two sisters.

Trial Begins in 100 000 Suit Over Farm Water Diversion
A Bridgeport jury of three men and nine women heard testimony in a 100 000 lawsuit against the City of Bridgeport over runoff water allegedly diverted onto Manning’s dairy farm. Manning's testimony described water flowing along an abandoned railroad bed south of Highway 380 before an airport road altered the flow. Manning’s son-in-law, Raymond Linehan, testified that since 1965 runoff followed the old railbed into a creek until the airport road was built.
