Jayanna Carr daughter of Mr and Mrs J Carr of Decatur was crowned Queen at the Wise County Farm Bureau Queens Contest held last Thursday night outside Decatur on Highway 51. Judy Dean daughter of Mr and Mrs H A Dean of Boyd was runner up from eight contestants. Contenders were Karene Bennett Jayanna Carr Helen Pinkerton Rosemary Wilson Francette Layfield Leann Shepherd and Barbara Ann Burns. Joe Vickers of Bridgeport MC for the second year. Entertainers were the Decatur group the Gentrys Chuck Jones Martin Woodruff and Steve Renshaw. Refreshments were served after the event.

Stamp Vending Machine Installed At Postoffice
A new model SI-5 Stamp Vending Machine was installed last week at the postoffice for the convenience of postal patrons. The machine, located to the right of the letter drop, dispenses a 5¢ stamp for a nickel or five 5¢ stamps for a quarter. A dime yields two 4¢ stamps plus two pennies as change.
