Bridgeport resident Rebecca Simpson, charged with licitation of capital murder in 2004, was set for April 17 in a Tarrant County court but the case moved to June due to scheduling conflicts. The trial will occur in Tarrant County because the incident occurred in Southlake and Wise County DA Jana Jones opted for the move. Simpson was arrested November 1, 2004, after allegedly attempting to hire an undercover officer to target a female victim and assault a male victim.

27 year old woman charged with child abandonment in Bridgeport
Melissa Schwartz, 27, was arrested at her Bridgeport home on two counts of abandonment and endangerment to a child with criminal negligence. Her boyfriend, Jason Carter, 25, has a warrant for injury to a child. Schwartz remains held in Wise County Jail on $20,000 bonds.
