Man Dies After Self-Directed Gas Poisoning and Hanging
John Jacob Moyers aged 60 of 1030 Hancock avenue visited Funeral Director Louis B. Richards in Emistrest and asked to arrange for a coffin for a friend who would die soon. Moyers used gas and a rope to attempt self harm, but was discovered alive by an emergency surgeon. His wife and two sons survive. Moyers had lately struggled to find work and had been living in Bridgeport, with a history in Germany, and as a laborer who was well thought of.
