Frederick Sailer died at his Broad Street home after weeks of illness. Born in Heidenheim Germany, he moved to Bridgeport in the early 1800s, built a liquor business with his son, and invested in real estate. A Democrat, he served on the Common Council and Board, helped establish Seaside Park driving track, and was active in parks and German societies. He was married to Susan E Howarth.

Governor Baldwin Seeks Two Mill Tax Levy

Fairfield Woman on Trial for Striking Mrs Conway
Mrs Robert Burch of Fairfield faced arraignment before Judge Barnes and a jury in the criminal court of common pleas as she stood trial for assault on Mrs Mary Conway and breach of the peace arising from a dispute over a barking dog. Cudrence Wolfe 22 a toolmaker for Singer Manufacturing Company at Bridgeport, suffered facial and body contusions and deep cuts with possible internal injuries after a collision with a Williams & Goltra Electric Co car on Barnum avenue. Witnesses say Wolfe tried to pass a trolley, darted past the trolley car, and collided with the oncoming motorist Britten whose car swung right. Wolfe was taken to a local hospital for observation.
