Rear Admiral Joseph Giles Eaton U S retired died suddenly at his Norwell home. He commanded the transport Resolution in the Spanish American war and informed Admiral Sampson that the fleet was leaving Santiago Bay. He received the Medal of Honor after the battle of Santiago and retired in 1905 after 29 years service. Eaton was born in Greenville Alabama in 1847.
Paris reports Alfred Marico Pickard former French minister of marine and Academy of Sciences member died today aged 69. He served as the French government delegate to the St Louis world’s fair.
Chicago report states Charles Cramer and Beatrice Ryall Cramer were found guilty of the murder of Miss Sophia Singer of Baltimore. The jury deliberated 17 hours before sentencing Cramer to life imprisonment and his wife to 11 years in prison.
Creditors of Bellamore Armored Car and Equipment Co organized a protective committee led by William Wiese & Co and Joseph F. O'Brien Mfg Co of New York. Robert J. Smack of New York serves as secretary collecting claims as the committee inspects books and assets to ensure liquidation at low expense.
Meriden reports Clerk of the Police Court Albert R Chamberlain sat on the bench to hear Nora Spellacy and Louis Sorenson charged after a police raid led by Nora’s husband John Spellacy. Bound over to higher court. Deputy Judge Fenn stood in for Judge Fay. Also, Dr E F McGovern spoke at Barnum school on preventing colds.

Marian Lund, arrested Thursday on the charge of procuring a 17 year old girl, remained in county jail unable to post a $1,000 bond. Attorney John J. Cullinan sought dismissal yesterday, but State's Attorney Judson insisted on continuing the prosecution.

Three workmen Robert Watkins Hampton Eaton and Fred Gresh were feared drowned after a pile driver capsized in Delaware Bay. They spent hours in a small boat and a night on a marsh exposed to cold. They returned home last night and are suffering from exposure. Searchers initially could not locate the boat, which was thought to have sunk.
In New Haven county court, Harold Peer of Meriden and Stephen Slavinski face murder related charges after a March 11 1910 woods killing of Harold Ford. James McGuire of Waterbury charged with manslaughter for a trolley collision that fatally injured William Harper and another passenger.
