Samuel Sim a 15 year old bookkeeper at Automatic Screw Machinery Co was found dead at 591 Howard Ave shortly after 10 15 am. He inhaled illuminating gas from a small stove with window open. Landlord Mrs Louis Levy found him on the floor. He had boarded there for a year and a half and was a student of bookkeeping with a shorthand course begun. His father and brother in Brooklyn could not be reached.
