Thousands fill the Chicago Coliseum as factions around Taft and Roosevelt clash over temporary rules and seating. Delgates arrive, security tightens, and tense party maneuvering unfolds before the vote on a temporary chairman and credentials.
At Chicago's Republican National Convention the opening session erupted in chaos as Victor Rosewater refused to amend the temporary roll of delegates. Roosevelt and La Follette factions clashed over seating while police cleared aisles and a tense debate on convention rules unfolded.
Amateur chronicle from Westport reports a farm rooster named Chantecler locking spurs into a rival rooster after a long feud. The fight, witnessed by a Greens Farms observer, ended with the victor asserting dominance on the barnyard stage.

Law of New Haven, took the car last Friday evening without permission. House and job notices follow, including a plumber, mill workers, day labor, and a lush cart driver needed in local ads.
