Mrs Margaret Sargo of 325 Pine Street appeals for the return of her daughter Lizzie, long employed at the Warner Brothers factory, who vanished after a sickly period said to end in possible fatal tuberculosis. Plainfield Connecticut June 10 Tender vegetables were crimped by last night frost across Windham county. The mercury briefly dropped to 3% for a short time the lowest June night reading recalled in years.
Winsted June 10 frost was reported in many hill towns of Litchfield county with Norfolk recording 28 degrees. Garden truck shows the effects of the cold and farmers fear damage to their potatoes.
New York stock market opened with a sharp decline as the Minnesota rate decision hit railroads hard. Hill stocks led losses with several railroad names dropping over four points, Northern Pacific and Great Northern also slipping, while other transcontinental issues followed. Bond prices eased as trading crowded, yet some buyers emerged amid the slump.
Lawyers say the appointments of Alderman Robert G. DeForest and Alderman Garlick as clerk and assistant clerk of the City Court violate the city charter. Section 46 bars holding city emolument offices while serving on the Common Council, and salaries are paid from the city treasury. Garlick has offered resignation, but lawyers say two acts are needed for an effective resignation. DeForest waits on the city attorney’s interpretation before deciding on his own move.

The two arson counts remain to be tried as the case advances, with jurors being empaneled and state and defense attorneys named.
Ja cob Baker of Danbury was found guilty of non support in the criminal court of common pleas. He told his wife he was much obliged, then was ordered to cease talking by court attaches. Baker received six months in jail and a $300 bond to pay his wife $9 weekly. He and his wife have 16 children, seven surviving. Gabriel Lukasevich of the city also convicted of non support and sentenced to six months with a $300 bond to pay $3 weekly unless posted.
Julia Lokotos, 23, of Bridgeport, seeks a husband but was duped by Mike Miskoltz alias John Toth and accomplice John Singer. Promised marriage, she gave $25 after a staged plan to borrow $400. pursued to New York for rings. They were arrested after a confrontation with James and Mrs. Ridavesik at a boat dock. Both held on charges of obtaining money under false pretenses awaiting trial.
Christina Kuntz of this city charged with shoplifting in a local department store forfeited a 200 bond in the crim inal court of common pleas. It was alleged she took eight yards of embroidery three pairs of scissors and a stove. In city court she was fined 75 and appealed. Ferdinand Albert of this city charged an unknown offense forfeited a bond.
