A group of boys from Norwalk Stamford Danbury and Norwalk County Home escaped after midnight seeking the circus. Was husband deceived by insane wife in annulment case

Herman O. Schmidt of Norwalk asks for annulment from Agnes Schmidt claiming she was insane at marriage in 1894 and concealed her condition. He seeks custody of their 42 year old child. He is filing papers while Agnes Schmidt is confined at the Middletown State Hospital. Returnable at the June term of court.

Warrenite to be laid along Main Street to Trumbull

The Bridgeport and Danbury Railway Co will lay Warrenite along tracks two feet outside rails to the Trumbull line. State Highway Commissioner Bennett says the state will pay the cost of laying a Warrenite strip the entire length on the west of the street. The city will lay Warrenite on the best side as width permits, contractors starting at North Avenue and Oxhill respectively.

The constitiionalist tug Hercules captured the schooner Garibaldi at Mazatlan harbor with a cargo of sugar for the United Sugar Company of Los Mochis. MRS CLANCY LAID TO REST IN MASSIVE FUNERAL PROCESSION

Hundreds gathered to honor Mrs. Ann Clancy widow of Jeremiah J Clancy at a 9 30 funeral from 792 Railroad Avenue. The cortege of over 60 carriages filled streets as floral tributes required three vehicles to transport them to St Michael s Cemetery. Sacred Heart church hosted a 10 o clock requiem mass with Dr R I Moore deacon Judge and Mooney assisting. Choir performed Schmidt s mass while Mrs Casserly and Mrs Ogren sang during offertory. Pallbearers included Cronan Walsh Quinn Light McLaughlin O Connell Mullins and others. Committal followed at St Michael s Cemetery.

Mediators Open Door to Carranza At Talks in Niagara Falls

After a two hour meeting in Niagara Falls mediators and American delegates left undecided on admitting the constitutionalists to settlement negotiations. They favored including Carranza if he agrees to an armistice with Huerta and to discuss both internal and international aspects of the Mexican problem. Thompsonville Conn June 1 The Hartford Carpet Co plans to buy the Bigelow Carpet mills at Lowell and Clinton Massachusetts. Manager Alvin Higgins said the purchase proposal had not been accepted yet and inventories were made by Mrs Higgins and staff to check assets ahead of any deal.

In Quebec on June 1, recovery of Empress of Ireland victims speeds up with nearly 100 of 188 bodies brought by the tender Lady Grey identified or recognized. Notables among the dead include Sir Henry Seton-Karr, Dr E A Barlow, Mrs W Leonard Palmer, and several Salvation Army members. Circus Parade Plans Major Route Change Tomorrow

After 26 years a change in use will occur as Barnum & Bailey moves its parade route tomorrow. The circus will depart the show lot on Sherwood driving, then along Fairfield Avenue to Park Avenue, Washington Street, Main Street, State Street, and back to Fairfield Avenue. W J Conway, a tour man, coordinated the arrival arrangements.

City Attorney OKs Public Markets and paving duties

City Attorney William H. Combes Jr informs the ordinance and streets committees that it is legal for the city to establish public market places. He will also deliver an opinion that Connecticut Co must immediately repair its portion of the wooden block paving on South Park Avenue. In Fairfield, Mrs Mary Buckley widow of Frank Buckley, dies at a ripe old age, survived by daughter Mrs Kate Nichols and two children. Her husband served as Fairfield selectman 1871–1881 and was a noted horseman with a carriage livery.
