John Freiberg a 62 year old mechanic and long time boarder at 714 Howard Avenue was buried as an unknown person in a local potter's field a week ago. Police today connected his body found afloat near Fayweather's stand on January 10 to Freiberg and recovered two pay envelopes bearing his name. Freiberg who came to the city from Sweden years ago lived alone and recently suffered flu. He had threatened to end his life and had left a note indicating possible suicide after asking his boarding mistress for a sandwich and coffee before leaving for a new job earlier that day.
