Jealous Steve Soltos, a Crane Valve Company worker, shot Mrs. Mary Senn gel and her daughter Sophie Soltos at 101 Columbia Street after being spurned by the mother. Umbrellas used as weapons, a struggle in a four family dwelling, and Soltos then attempted suicide with a knife. He died or will die at St Vincent's, while the wounded women were rushed to hospital.
