A collision between a freight train and an express train from Turin near Grosseto Asnens today left three passengers dead and several injured. All Americans aboard the express were unharmed in the wreck.

Bridgeport Elks were royal guests in Derby lodge of Elke last evening. The Bridgeport delegation with the W. and W. band traveled by special trolley to Derby, where Derby escorts led them to Gould Armory for the carnival. The special car departed Derby after midnight.

Philadelphia report states 28 year old automobile salesman Carl Kinlock fired in a restaurant after jealous dispute with Ora Griffin. In Watertown Massachusetts on February 21 two Armenian youths Nishan Aprahanian 16 and Manoog Garabedian 17 fatally wounded Turk Issnayel Sunia Kada 27. Police say the boys confessed they were taught in Turkey to defend the Cross and swore an oath to act. They attacked Kada as he passed after Sinlu Xada allegedly cursed the Cross.
Washington Feb 21 The Senate ratified eight arbitration treaties with Great Britain Japan Italy Spain Norway Sweden Portugal and Switzerland by a two thirds vote without amendments. The action puts these general arbitration pacts into effect across the nations named.
An unusual accident blocked the Litchfield branch at Judd's Bridge near Brookfield Junction on February 21. The Bridgeport to Bantam Lake ice train derailed after striking a steel obstruction, passengers were moved as wrecking crews and a Waterbury steam derrick replaced the engine.
Washington Feb 21 Secretary Redfield postponed the transfer of Capt Theodore Judson from Stratford light to Newport to April 1. Congressman Jeremiah Donovan argued Judson has run Stratford light for 34 years and public desire favors his remaining. The March 1 transfer was halted to allow further inquiry into the original order.
In Ireland near Saltee Islands three lifeboat men drowned while attempting a rescue of the Norwegian vessel Dark Mexico ashore near Wexford. Two lifeboats responded to the distress call from Lagorta, Mex., bound for Falmouth. The first rescue boat was stove in, but all crew and lifeboat crew survived. the second lifeboat sank with fourteen aboard, three of whom were drowned.
The final hearing in New Hampshire on Harry K. Thaw’s habeas corpus and bail petition concluded. William T. Jerome spoke against Thaw, with 10 days for supplementary briefs granted. Thaw’s counsel to reply in 10 days. Judge Aldrich will decide, then an immediate appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court. Thaw remains in custody until then.
William Sisco of Fairfield is hospitalized in New Haven at Grace Hospital with a fractured skull after being waylaid and robbed. Elm City authorities notified. his sister Mrs James Dee of Fairfield will be responsible for his care. It is noted he had prior skull injury and operations in Bridgeport.
