The funeral for James F. Heffernan drew many mourners from his mother’s house on Linen Avenue to St. Augustine’s Church for a Requiem Mass. Interment followed at St. Michael’s cemetery. James Nickerson, longtime Blue Ribbon Stables worker, died at Middleton hospital. He left a wife and grown children at 862 Broad Street. funeral director M. J. Gannon arranged arrangements.
