Basilica of Holy Cross Is Americas Gift In Rome Inauguration
Rome reports the basilica of the Holy Cross was inaugurated to mark Constantine the Great’s Christian recognition centenary. Cardinal Cassetta presided in a ceremony with many dignitaries. The structure, 180 feet long and 90 to 100 feet high, features a high altar donated by Rev. John O’Brien for $25,235. Falconio, once an apostle in the United States, will perform the first mass. John Ritty, inventor of the Sa register, has died in Dayton.
