Local railway superintendent killed correcting live wire
Frank J. Collins, 45, superintendent of the local railway and fire alarm district, died from a 2300 volt shock while repairing a broken wire on Meriden avenue after a wind storm. Assistant Charles Beckley helped. Collins died instantly as a townwide blackout followed the accident. He leaves a wife and three children and was a prominent town figure.
