Washington December 7 A joint resolution to amend the Constitution to empower Congress to curb monopolies was introduced by Representative John A Sterling of Illinois. He argues Congress must control interstate and intra state corporations, noting state conflicts hinder action against the New Jersey class. The measure goes to the Judiciary committee.
Washington reports that Pasadena society women refused to dance with Japanese naval officers fueling a breach. Officials say no official notification has been made by Tokyo or Washington and that government pressure is unlikely to alter private social choices.
