Whitehead Enlists Watson's Interest in Flight Trials
Gustav Whitehead's flying machine, towed by a 3 hp automobile, again drew attention at Brooklawn Country Club late yesterday. An enthusiast, Arthur K. Le Wetson, supplied the powerful car and aided tests aimed at measuring the forces needed for sustained flight. Despite modest power, Whitehead and Watson pressed on, expecting the craft to soon rise on its own 100 hp motor.
