Joseph W. Zeiglar of the People's Coal and Wood Yard repelled three attackers at 135 Admiral Street Saturday night. A narrow gateway allowed one assailant at a time enabling Zeiglar to escape with the day's receipts, believed to be several hundreds of dollars. Police and watchmen responded after a call from nearby yards. A sandbag, overcoat, and other clues were later found near the yard.
