Southport report details Fred Spicer 14 son of Mrs. John Spicer of Riverside Avenue who died at St Vincent's Hospital Bridgeport after an intestinal obstruction was operated on. He had eaten several green apples then swam and suffered violent cramps. He was helped from the water and transported home where Dr C B Hyde treated him before the operation. The youth died following surgery.

In Rockland Maine Aus 25 the bodies of Carl W Perry and Miss Antsy Spear both graduates of the local high school last June were found in a small boat floating in Penobscot Bay.
