Gas fumes injure crew during G-6 submarine trial run
In Provincetown Massachusetts on August 2 several crewmen of the US submarine G-6 were overcome by gasoline fumes while recharging batteries aboard off Long Point. Funeral of Rev Timothy R Sweeney Held in Sacred Heart
The funeral of Rev. Timothy R. Sweeney pastor of the Sacred Heart parish will be held Tuesday after his death at 11:15 PM. Requiem mass at Sacred Heart at 10:36 AM preceded by the Office for the Dead at 10 AM. Interment on the Sweeney plot in New London Conn. Pastor Rev Walter J Shanely will preach the eulogy with Rev James Nihill and other clergy assisting. Sweeney, born in Norwich 57 years ago, served in Litchfield Portland Bridgeport and New London, helped build St Anthony's Church, and led Sacred Heart Parish through debt reduction and a new convent project. He died after long illness, with a devout parish vigil prior to death.
