Washington April 20 the motorboat patrol reports 495 cases on sea as the Tarragon a federal police vessel in service nine and a half months has recorded violations of motorboat and navigation laws. The bureau notes improved conditions after shanghaiing complaints in the oyster fleet at Chesapeake Bay and reports a lack of life saving equipment being gradually corrected in southern waters. About 200000 motorboats exist with an estimated 400000 persons safeguarded by navigation efforts.
