Lafayette Consistory in Bridgeport plans the first ever conferral in the city and state of the Master Ad Vitam degree on Monday at the Masonic Temple. About 100 Rhode Island Masons from Providence will travel by special train, tour the city, then attend the eight o'clock ceremony followed by a lunch. Visitors will be hosted by local members with elaborate costumes and electrical effects. after the 20th degree, the 32d degree will be conferred in short form before late-night departures. The event features notable Rhode Island and Boston Masons, with Meistersinger Double Quartet providing music. A marriage license for Joseph Svak and Barbara Blues was issued earlier today.
