Fire at Dwyer cottages wipes out Yellowstone Kitt fortune
Yellowstone Kitt loses around three to four thousand dollars in a Monday night blaze that destroyed the Dwyer cottages. Losses include costumes bought in India, a jewel case with over five hundred dollars in diamonds, three hundred dollars in silver, and fifteen hundred dollars in currency. Some silver and diamonds were recovered Tuesday. The fire started while the housekeeper cooked with a gasoline stove. Neighbors aided as flames spread and the tank leaked causing an explosion. Kitt plans to resume business elsewhere.
