Cooperative plan to market cotton backed by state interests
Peter Radford president of the Farmers Union and B B Cain head of the Texas Commercial Secretaries and Business Men's Association announce joint efforts to improve farm product marketing. The Texas Welfare Commission at its San Antonio session approved the Farmers Union plan and called on financial interests to back loans for farmers unable to hold cotton. A steady market could add at least ten dollars per bale in revenue and stabilize prices with anticipated state support.

Lumber export routes set to Beaumont impact on port
Negotiations between the Santa Fe Railroad and the Beaumont traffic bureau lead to an agreement to establish lumber export rates. The plan will enable 19 million feet of timber to be assembled for export via Port Arthur, requiring crews, docks, and towing boats. The change aims to improve water access and reduce water contamination in Port slips.
