Body of 16 Year Old Drowns at Oak Hill Near Big Walnut
After three days of exhausting search in flood waters of Big Walnut Creek, the body of 16 year old Mary Nicoson, daughter of Mr and Mrs Jon Nicoson of Tennessee street, was recovered at Oak Hill two miles away. Frank and Ted Laswell found her face down about a mile north of Willow Beach. she was taken to Lawson and Son funeral home. Debris and driftwood hampered the effort as volunteers worked day and night since Monday evening when she drowned at the Oak Hill Park swimming pool. Police cleared debris along National Road bridge and dynamite charges were used to dislodge obstructions. crowds gathered daily to aid the search effort.
