Haunted by Victim Manhunt Ends in Self Harm Arrest
A drunk woman identified as Margaret Myers, later Mag Welsh, was arrested after a Sunday drunken spree near Eldridge and tester streets. While jailed she twice tried to hang herself, then raved about Officer McChesney killed in 1867. She had previously been convicted for that murder and pardoned, later marrying Myers.
