The board of supervisors will meet in regular session next Monday morning. Mrs M L Buckley left for Tallulah La to take a music teaching position. T H Collier and Prof C L Laseter visited Stage in Scott county. D M Mayers returned from a coast vacation including Biloxi and Gulfport. Capt J G Foulks, now in Raceland La, spent days with Capt and Mrs J C White. The Jackson cottage on College street, bought by Judge Wm Watson, is being repaired for occupancy. October begins tax settlements. Chautauqua at Pelahatchie praised. business men signed a contract for next season. Rankin county chancery court convened and adjourned after three days with a large docket. Brandon Electric Co installs a 20 hp crude oil engine and generator to power homes. Dr J B Hutton will preach at Presbyterian church Sunday at 3:30 PM. Little Susan Lindsey died Saturday at 5 AM from diphtheria. funeral Saturday evening. Mrs Henry Purvis died Friday near town. funeral Saturday and burial in Greenfield. Rankin wins first in club work for 1916. Tris Summers wins $100 scholarship from State Bankers Association and enters Mississippi Normal College. News announces Langford Club girls canning demonstration and home economics talks. In Memoriam Infant Daughter of Will Bynum

Gloom fell on the community as Jewel Lois Bynum, born October 16 1918, died August 10 1916 at age two years ten months. The child reportedly forecast her death at breakfast hours later succumbing to a fever. loving parents and kin mourn her loss.
