Night Riders at Reelfoot Lake Triggered by 1811 Quake
An 1811 quake created a large Reelfoot Lake in Obion County Tennessee, drawing desperate fishermen from across the country. Night riders abducted leaders of a land dispute claiming West Tennessee Land Co possession, with Captain Rankin murdered and Judge Taylor escaping after 86 hours on foot. State troops and posses pursue justice as circuit court convenes and land titles are resolved.
