Mrs. R. P. Fikes visits relatives in Meridian. Dr. W. H. Watson was a New Orleans visitor last Friday. R. R. Busick returns from New Orleans. Miss Augusta Spann of Pelahatchie visits Brandon. A baby boy born to Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Bullock. Rock Hill to hold fifth Sunday preaching with dinner on the grounds. Susie Blue Buchanan passes the Brandon law exam and will be admitted to the bar. T. H. Collier recovering well after appendicitis operation in New Orleans. Rev. Jack Linton of Raymond visiting in Brandon. Miss Marie Bruce underwent bowel surgery in Jackson and is recovering. Citizens teachers association planned for Friday at 3:30 to improve Brandon Consolidated School. H. L. Myers reports a seven foot, five pound sugar cane stalk. Mrs. McDonald recovering from hospital stay in Jackson. W. P. Anderson fined $25 for cattle movement without permit in Rankin Madison case. November election tickets noted with liquor law provisions. Editor and Mrs. May visit Beauvoir soldiers home on coast. Rankin county attendees at Gulfport Centennial include Daniel Till Ellis Dear Hitt and others. Strite entertains Mississippi Centennial crowd with tales. Circuit Clerk Lindsey lists liquor shipments 1915–1916 showing reduced whisky and beer after new law. Cane mills and evaporators at W. G. November election managers named for Rankin County

The county election commissioners announce appointed returning officers and managers for Rankin County polling places for the general election on Tuesday November 7. Precincts list each manager clerk and bailiff with the first-named as returning officer paid three dollars and others one dollar each.
