Reports say sheriff and clerk positions were lucrative under fees and some amendments may be needed to enable salaries, with possible raises to reflect higher living costs.

Pig investment yields huge gains for Frank McGee

In 1917 Frank McGee a 16 year old from Louisville Mississippi invested 9.45 in a pig. The pig valued at 100 produced 36 offspring sold for 300. From offspring 1100 pounds of meat at 0.20 per pound valued 220. He can sell 17 more pigs for 200. Total income 820, net gain 668.75 after 151.25 feed. He plans to attend Agricultural College at Starks ville to cover almost two years of tuition.
