In Rankin County Mississippi an election is required to decide if the Bond Issue for Supervisor's District No 4 should proceed. The October 1916 board notice followed Chapter 176 of 1914 law requiring a 20 percent petition against the bonds to halt the issue.
Rankin county Mississippi commissioners order a special election for November 27 1916 in Supervisor District No 4 to decide on issuing bonds with the question on the ballot and appoint precinct managers clerks and bailiffs for Pelahatchie Cross Roads and Shiloh precincts. The board will report results at the next December meeting and the election is conducted under the 1906 Registration and Elections code.
