Letters of administration granted by the Chancery Court of Rankin County Mississippi to J G Armstrong as administrator for the estate of W H Armstrong of Fannin Mississippi. Sealed bids invited for rail cut fill work Brandon MS

Sealed proposals will be received until April 10 1917 by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of Brandon Mississippi for filling the excavation at the old rail cut and for constructing a concrete wall at the base of the fill. Mrs W H Watson and masters Billie and George left today after a pleasant visit with homefolks at Daniel. Rev E W Ford to preach at Presbyterian church next Sunday. Miss Lois Sessums of Harper ville and Mr Sam Steed of Shawnee were visitors. Ira W Shields of Rush Springs is visiting in Brandon. Farmers to organize a Farm Bureau at the court house on Saturday March 17 at ten. Rev J E Speigel to preach a series of sermons at the Baptist church starting Thursday night. Some communications omitted due to crowded column. Town bonds of 5000 for sidewalks sold to Merchants Bank & Trust Co of Jackson for 5070. Building of walks to begin within 15 days. W B Collier bought the Bruce home for 2000. Mrs Pira Bruce and Miss Carey will stay in Brandon and board. Myrtle Cox wed T H Brown of Yazoo City last Sunday. Newly arrived families from various regions increasing Rankin county population. Brandon area has seen about a dozen families purchase land and settle locally.
