Alarming Short Corn Crop Situation Warns Farmers
A Commercial Appeal survey by Dr. E R Lloyd and C W Watson warns the South faces a severe feed shortage as corn and other crops lag. In Fayette County Tennessee they found only three corn fields in 11 miles and weevils on all 34 cotton farms. Experts urge planting corn and sorghum within weeks to prevent a repeat of 1923 style shortages. They warn high cotton prices tempt shallow planting, risking next year’s feed supply. RAT-SNAP rat control ads follow from Thornton's Drug Store and A M Shields.
