Candidates Feast at Pisgah Honors Governor Candidate

A large crowd attended the Candidates Feast at Pisgah last Saturday in honor of Hon. E. Thomas, a governor hopeful. Speeches by several candidates drew cheers, while young women urged votes for a favored dentist candidate. A Pisgah Leesburg ball game and hay ride with a quirky mule team capped the festive day. Proved by a flag presented to Thomas to fly on inauguration day if elected.

Elective judiciary debate fuels gubernatorial campaign

The Clarksdale Challenge notes a development in the governor race as judges Whitfield and Mayes are tied to political sponsorships. Mrs Ellen Williams Dead at 77 in Pelahatchie Mississippi

Mrs Ellen Williams buried at New Prospect church at 11 a m beside late husband J W Williams who died about 18 years earlier. Widow of J W Williams lived with daughters in Pratt City Alabama for years. Five daughters attended the funeral from Alabama Mississippi and Tennessee. She was well known in the county and leaves many sorrowing friends and relatives.
