Mob Hangs Black Prisoner Near Rankin Farm Gate
A mob of more than fifty masked men abducted Louis Wimberly from two prison guards and hanged him from a tree near the Rankin farm late Monday afternoon. Wimberly, accused of injuring Mrs. Berryhill, was previously captured by Robert Lilley and returned to the farm. An inquest found death due to unknown parties.
