Constable H C Washburn captured a complete moonshine distilling outfit about a mile north of Brandon on Tuesday night. He saw a man working the setup, fired twice as the operator fled, then found mash and meat with the run. Sheriff Harrison and Washburn took the outfit to town for inspection. arrests are expected in days.
Goldsby, a prominent escaped convict and alleged receiver of stolen property, died in the Warren County jail at Vicksburg weighing 300 pounds and suffering from Bright's disease. He had claimed payments to Senator Murray and former Gov Bilbo for a pardon, denied by Murray and supported by Bilbo as legal practice. Goldsby twice escaped penitentiaries, once via suspended sentence and again by bribery, with arrests in Chicago and Toronto. He was to face Chief Justice Sydney Smith on his fate. He led a long reputed gang of thieves and died in custody.

Trustee will sell at the Rankin County Courthouse Brandon MS on Saturday March 19 1921 during legal hours the land described as fifty three and two thirds acres off the south end of northwest quarter section Six Ten in Rankin County Mississippi as security for a deed of trust dated December 1919 from A D Offutt to Mra M A Milligan recorded in Book 6 page 42. The beneficiary declared the entire debt due and payable and the trustee will bid the property to the highest bidder for cash.
A new venture, the Mississippi Petroleum Syndicate, limited, plans a test oil well near Brandon on the Jackson anticline. Judge J C McKnight, A H Alvis, J Morris Law, and Albin Young sponsor the project with over 5,000 acres secured. Robert Stanton will manage selling. They aim for 3,500 to 4,000 feet drilling to reach productive formations in northwestern Louisiana and will offer 3,000 units at 50 dollars each. An immediate derrick and drilling rig are planned on the holdings.
