Pat Henry commander of Rankin Camp No.265 UCV laments the death of Sam Stewart born 1832? died December 19 1921 at age 89. a farmer and Confederate veteran who served with the Madison Tops artillery under Captain Moody, survived many battles of the Army of Northern Virginia. survived by wife Tempe Coldtrain and daughter Lizzie now married to J H Singletary. He lived in Rankin County, honored by his comrades and buried with due respect.
