Unveiling of the Confederate Monument in Brandon
The sun blessed Friday for the Confederate monument ceremony as Maj. Patrick Henry opened with welcome remarks by Mayor G. O. Robinson and UDC President Daisy McLaurin Stevens. Speakers praised veterans, Southern women, and the monument fund, noting a $2000 board of supervisors gift, while General Lowry missed the address due to his son’s burial.
