Stock Law District Expansion and Bridge Grants

Rankin County Board Corrects 1904 05 Tax Assessments
The Rankin County board met to review J L Buchanan sheriff and tax collector reports for 1904 1905. They charged him 65.88 state tax on additional personal and credited 12.40 for errors in assessment. They similarly adjusted realty and insolvent personal taxes with small credits and charges. Trustees appointed for townships and roads discussed changes to road No 22 and assessed Brandon lot lowered from 600 to 400. The board adjourned to September.

Death of Judge Bourne Recalls Long Career of Public Service
Judge W. A. Bourne died Sunday at his sister Mrs. J. H. Whitfield after a week with paralysis. He served the county as probate judge long ago, known for courage and uprightness. Funeral services were held at the oil church, with interment in Brandon cemetery to await the judgment morn.
