Rankin County Vote Totals Lead to Second Primary
The Rankin County primary results show Collins 27000, Longino 28086, Russell 46516, and Johnston 36268, sending Russell and Johnston to a second primary with Russell slightly ahead by over 10000 votes. Frierson leads Casteel for lieutenant governor. Power defeats Wilson. Roberson beats Floyd. Beall Jr. loses to Robertson for revenue. Rogers tops Scott for treasurer by about 15000. Edwards appears to defeat three opponents for railroad commissioner. Countywide, Harrison leads, with May and Donnell in a chancery clerk runoff, and Barksdale and Phillips in the superintendent race.
